Senior Urban Planner

Arup is an independent global firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. We are looking for a Senior Urban Designer, who will fulfill the position specified below, to join our Master planning and Urban Design Team in Istanbul to work on various prestigious projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or above of architecture and urban planning from reputable universities.
• At least 10 years of relevant experiences.
• Proven integration and independently project design ability, and the ability of visual presenting and drafting.
• Ability to manage the submission process and to provide the qualified deliveries at the expected standards.
• Ability to manage a medium size team and take responsibility of the delivery of the projects.
• Good communication skills and team spirit with careful and logical thinking, planning, and implementing capabilities, initiative, with strong sense of responsibility and cooperation.
• Good at hand drawing, sketching and various of software such as Autodesk, MS Office Tools, Sketch Up, Adobe, Rhino.
• Strong communication skills, verbally and visually, using a variety of techniques- diagrams, sketches, 3D models and drawings as well as Adobe Suite.
• Ability to use diverse information and understand complex buildings and respond with innovative urban design and architectural solutions.
• Ability to envisage infrastructural reflections of ground level design solutions.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary teamwork with engineers and architects.
• Ability to perform superposition of different projects, identify problematic points and develop design solutions.
• Excellent command of English both written and verbal.
• Working experience in multinational and English-speaking environment is a plus.
• Urban design and master planning experience is preferable

• As a senior designer to undertake urban design tasks, independently be responsible for the project concept design and following project monitoring of every stage with directing and reviewing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and strive for innovative, integrated, and holistic propositions.
• Good experiences of communication with clients. Participate project management, can report/present the work results to client with strong influence.
• Work with commercial and institutional clients across a wide range of projects and typologies/sectors (tertiary education, commercial and infrastructure) demonstrating a commitment to the application of strong urban strategy and design principles.
• Emphasizing on design creation, upgrade team’s urban design technical standards and provide the proposal of implementation and interfacing.
• Design fluently using various software packages (Rhino and Revit preferred) across a range of scales and work stages.
• Create efficient, purposeful, simple, and beautiful places and landscapes that provide meaningful social and sustainable outcomes.
• Active in business development and establishing client relations. Experience in tenders and providing proposals.
