We are seeking suitably qualified individuals to join us as full time Primary School (Classroom) HOMEROOM TEACHERS who can teach English, Mathematics, Science and other related subjects in English,at ISTANBUL (Bahcelievler, Bahcesehir, Beylikduzu, Atasehir), IZMIR (Cigli), BURSA (Ozluce), ANTALYA (Muratpasa) and ANKARA (Alacaatli) campuses for the academic year 2024-2025.

The expected time to join the team is late August 2024 or early September 2024.

Virtual interviews offered to qualified candidates who are eligible who reside outside the city or country for the position. Beside the national curriculum, depending on the campus accreditations, we offer international programmes such us IB PYP, IB DP and Cambridge Pathway (Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower-Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AS/A Level). Medium of instruction in these programmes is English so fluency in English is a must.Ongoing professional development trainings are provided by the school.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in education or relevant licence/certificate and has excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices, are competent at constructivist and inquiry-based teaching approaches, have high communication skills, can use educational technologies, are principled and treat their students with tenderness and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Design and/or follow a complete teaching plan; follow the school’s PYP programme of inquiry; Teach alphabet and numeracy along with personal, social and emotional skills
• Organize learning material and resources; Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities etc) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information; communicate with them on pupils' learning and progress, draw attention to special skills and talents, as well as to problems or difficulties
• Maintain an attractive, safe and stimulating classroom environment and contribute to displays in the school as a whole.
• Assess students performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis; Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing
• Cooperate with administration staff; Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations; Attend and contribute the staff meetings
• Be up–to-date with current educational thinking and practices; improve pedagogy and understanding of pupils’ behaviour and development, both by study and by workshops and meetings; and participate in appraisals and reviews of their work, arranged by the Head or the Coordinator
• Serve as a home room/class teacher with responsibility, for the day-to-day pastoral care of students; act as a mentor and role model to all students
• Participate in off-site student field trips
• Carry out supervisory duties at break/lunch times and at the beginning or end of the school day
• Serve on committees, as required
• Teach after-school enrichment  classes for students identified as needing enrichment or additional reinforcement;
• Providing substitution for other teachers on need based, as required by the Head and Programme Coordinator.
